One of my clients purchased an ounce of peppermint oil for her rodent problem. She told me she used peppermint essential oil to rid her yard of moles and this is what she did: placed 1-2 drops of essential oil of mentha piperita on cotton balls and sealed them over night in a plastic bag (can also use a mason jar). In the morning she placed a cotton ball in each mole hole and presto!! the next day they had all moved out! I love this!-she saved her yard without destroying the little critters!

Rodents do not like the smell of mint which repels them quite easily. I planted a variety of mints around the perimeter of my daughter’s house to rid the area of rodents and reptiles and it worked wonderfully well! They will not crawl through the mint.

Another story comes from one of my students and involves a hummingbird and this is what she writes:

‘Brian and I saved a hummingbird’s life! Brian found him on the curb next to the street when he was mowing the lawn and brought him to me. I put him in a little dish with paper towels and used some sugar water with my lavender pipette to feed it to him. My intent was to use the lavender pipette, because the scent was pretty strong and I thought, “If anything will bring him around, it has to be lavender!” He was stunned for about 30 minutes. When Brian gently pulled on the paper towels to lift him up a bit, he looked up and flew away. Yeah!!! A happy story! Imagine, I got to hold a hummingbird in my hands today! ” Karin

I myself finally got a handle on my ant problem, even my out door cat bowls! I added peppermint essential oil to olive oil and greased the outside of the cat bowls and the cat bowl holders. It repelled the ants for about 5 days and then I had to re-grease. Also, I used the peppermint oil in the house along one of kitchen baseboards where the ants insisted on entering and the oil worked very well indeed! After all, we just want to dwell in harmony with the living creatures of this earth which do have a purpose–we just don’t want them in our pantry!

Lastly, I would like to thank my house spiders who have also done a great job catching what happens to sneak by the essential oils! After all, it’s all about harmony and sharing our world which belongs to every living thing!!

Blessings for a Joyous and Harmonious fall!
