C-alternatives, now doing business as Primal Hints, was established and licensed March, 2001 and amended the legal name of the company to C-alternatives Aromatherapy L. L. C. in 2006 In May, 2007 C-alternatives Aromatherapy LLC began Doing Business As (DBA) Primal Hints. Primal means Essential and Hints means Scents–Essential Scents-Essential Oils. Founded by a Certified Holistic Nurse and an Aromatherapist, Cheryl Ann Endlish (formerly Laudenbacher), the company initially focused on product development. Since that time the company focus has shifted to essential oil education through a wide variety of classes and workshops and still maintains a small essential oil product line created from essential oils and organic herbs. C-alternatives opened it’s Retail Shop and Educational Class Room in the fall in of 2005 and added energy work through Reiki in 2006.
C-alternatives means to “C” (see) the ‘alternatives’, holistic health practices that are used instead of or in conjunction with traditional health care practices. Pure essential oils complement all Traditional or Non Traditional Therapies. Often people use aromatherapy in tandem with other therapies for chronic illnesses. Many people use aromatherapy as their first choice for routine problems such as allergies while others use it in combination with standard medical treatments.
Our products enhance self-care perspectives as they include 100% Pure Essential Oils which balance mind, body and spirit simultaneously without synthetic fragrances, harsh chemicals, preservatives or additives of any kind. ‘Holistic’ means viewing ourselves as an integrated whole which includes physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects, as opposed to looking merely at physical issues. Treatment failure for any condition is often related to failing to view ourselves as a whole and focusing only on relieving physical symptoms rather than improving our over all health. Pure essential oils, oils that are distilled or expressed from aromatic plants, trees, shrubs and bushes, help the body to perform more efficiently by balancing the entire hormone or endocrine system. Unlike fragrance oils which are created in laboratory from a petroleum base and promote allergies and hormone imbalances, essential oils promote healing, prevent infection, improve mood and relieve physical symptoms. For example, Lavender Vera inhaled or applied to the skin not only increases relaxation and mood, it promotes healing by decreasing pain and inflammation. What a perfect state for healing–relaxed, happy with decreased pain! All essential oil have a unique effect on the body, mind and spirit. What could be more natural than feeling better by smelling a flower oil!
Fragrance oils can impair the immune system, interfere with mood and stimulate allergic responses. One of my first recommendations to clients is “Remove all fragrance oils from your environment starting with your laundry detergent and dryer sheets.”
We at Primal Hints believe our body has the ability to heal itself when the body is in the ‘right condition’ to promote healing. This “right condition” is harmony of the body, mind and spirit as described above with the use of lavender. Harmony is achieved by managing not only physical symptoms but includes ridding our environment of chemicals, eating well, exercising, meditating or praying and sharing love and laughter with friends and family. Believing our life has purpose and meaning keeps us grounded, healthy and happy. It is our personal belief that we can live in harmony with the universe and all living things. The focus of our business is to promote that balance, harmony, and healing through education and earth friendly products. Our goal is to support those who want to live closer to nature and nurture their mind, body and spirit.
